Install and Use

  1. Open the Pixel Diff plugin page on Figma Community and add it to Figma.
  2. On the Figma canvas, select the two layers you want to compare first, such as frames, components, images, or shapes.
  3. Run Pixel Diff. If the plugin shows that two layers are selected, you are ready to compare.
  4. Click "Run comparison." Image A, Image B, and the diff image are generated and shown in the plugin.
  5. Switch display modes and diff sensitivity as needed, then use "Save PNG" to download the diff image.

If the two layers have different sizes, they are resized to the larger one for comparison.

What Pixel Diff helps with

  • Compare two Figma layers or images at the pixel level.
  • Review UI changes, before/after visual diffs, and layout regressions.
  • Export the diff image as PNG for design reviews and bug reports.

Display modes

After running a comparison, you can switch between these modes in the toolbar.

  • Fade - Overlay the images and use the slider to compare before and after.
  • Highlight - Emphasize the diff regions.
  • Subtract - Show the difference by subtraction.

Diff sensitivity

Choose how fine the diff detection should be, from fine to coarse. Use finer settings for subtle visual changes and coarser settings for a quick overview.
